When our life in the world is going well, we tend to forget to follow what the Lord wants us to do. We tend to conform to the world that we are living in. "Conformity is the way to a troubled free life." This statement is sometimes true but it does not always lead us to that way. We are told to not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2). We are in this world, but we ought to live for Christ. Living in this word would not be that easy for the Christians. Sometimes we are tempted to conform a little bit, and then without noticing it, we are already much conformed to the world. In that, I have learned that conformity can either have a positive or negative result. If I will conform to the pattern of this world, I would surely end up to be just like the world itself, with all its evil factors. But I believe I can also conform to this world, in a way that I will adopt their styles or new ways of living out my Christian life and not in a way that I would conform to their lifestyle.
Before, I used to think about all the worldly things. I really loved the world that I have been living since I was born. I conformed to its pattern a lot of times. But it did not do me any good at all. Then, when I became a Christian, conforming to the world has been a "no-no" to me. Because it is very clear in the word of God that we are not to follow what this world does. We should not entertain any of its seemingly good things for us.
As a human being, and a citizen of this world, it is not really easy to live a Christian life. There are a lot of things to be considered. A lot of things to done in order to get in our society. I fall sometimes regarding this topic. Yet, I have always been reminded by the word to obey Him. It is for Him that I am living now.I pray that God would give me the strength to carry on.
